Backup linebacker Kris Griffin will miss the rest of the season due to a knee injury.  He played mostly on special teams for the Browns this season and he did a decent job.  He played in 12 games and had 11 tackles for the Browns this season.

LeCharles Bentley is done for the season for the Cleveland Browns

The Browns have decided to place LeCharles Bentley on the Injured Reserve List as he’s still trying to recover from knee injuries.  I feel bad for Bentley who wanted to play for the Browns his whole career and jumped at the chance to sign with them as a  free agent.  Hopefully Bentley will be able to return in 2008.

The Cleveland Browns have placed Ted Washington on the Injured Reserve List with a knee problem.  He only made 6 tackles this season and he appeared to be toast.  Ethan Kelley has moved into the starting lineup at nose tackle and he has made 7 tackles, 1 sack and a fumble recovery.  This will be a upgrade for the Browns.

Running back Jamal Lewis and WR Joe Jurevicius went down to injury early in the game against the Patriots and neither of them returned.  Lewis injured his right foot and it hurt the offense.  He has carried the ball 77 times for 382 yards (5.0 ypc) and he has also caught 4 passes for 33 yards (8.3 avg).  If Lewis can’t go this week Jason Wright will take over as the main running back.  He has carried the ball 19 times for 102 yards (5.4 ypc) and has caught 6 passes for 51 yards (8.5 avg) so far this season.  Jurevicius injured a knee against the Patriots and he will be replaced by Tim Carter if he can’t go against the Dolphins.  Jurevicius has been a key to the Browns offense this season as he has caught 12 passes for 132 yards (11.0 avg) with 3 TD grabs.  Tim Carter played well in Jurevicius’ place last Sunday and he has caught 5 passes for 86 yards (17.2 avg) and a TD so far this season.  Carter is much faster than Jurevicius but he doesn’t have near as good of a set of hands.

Cleveland Browns’ TE Kellen Winslow has a shoulder injury

Kellen Winslow has a partially dislocated left shoulder and it’s up in the air as to whether or not he will play this weekend against the hated Ravens.  Winslow injured himself on the Browns last drive of the football game.  He vows to play and the Browns need him as he has been outstanding so far this season.  Winslow has caught 16 passes for 271 yards (16.9 avg) with 1 TD grab.  If Winslow can’t go, look for the Browns to throw the ball a lot more to WR Joe Jurevicius who is having a solid season.  Steve Heiden would start in Winslow’s place if he can’t go and he has caught 2 passes for 30 yards (15.0 avg) so far this season.  Heiden is dependable but he’s nowhere near the playmaker that Winslow is.
