The over/under for Cleveland Browns wins is 6 for 2007

If the Browns were starting Brady Quinn from day #1 I might be tempted to take the over.  The Browns will likely be a much better football team than they were in 2006 but they have a really tough schedule this season.  Plus, the Browns did not address the defensive line like they needed to in the off-season adding only DE Robaire Smith and backup DT Shaun Smith.  So the Browns will likely have problems stopping the run again and it’s hard to win that way.  The Browns will likely try to ride Jamal Lewis’ running to keep the opposition off of the field and keep Charlie Frye away from making big mistakes.  Take the under but it will be close.

The over/under for Browns wins is 6 1/2.  The Browns are currently 66-1 to win the Super Bowl, and 35-1 to win the AFC.

The suggestion here is to take the over.  The Browns look like an 8 win team to me this season.

Browns’ wagering angle

I am going to lay some cash on the Browns in Week #2 against the Bengals in the Jungle.  The last 4 times the Browns have played in Cincy they have covered three times.  Without Odell Thurman (suspended by league for first 4 games), the Browns will expose the interior of the Bengals defense which has been soft against the run.  Rueben Droughns and the improved Browns O-Line will push the Bengals around.  I also have a feeling that Anthony Wright will be starting at QB in that game.  I just don’t see how Carson Palmer can be playing again on a re-built knee in less than nine months.
