The Cleveland Browns release Brandon McDonald

The Browns have released 25-year old cornerback Brandon McDonald.  McDonald played in 16 games for the Browns last season and he had 55 tackles, 10 passes defensed, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble and he picked off 1 pass.  In three years with the Browns, McDonald played in 48 games in which he had 154 tackles, 37 passes defensed, 1 sack, 2 forced fumbles and 8 interceptions (185 return yards).  One of his interceptions he returned for a TD.  This was kind of a surprising move for the Browns as McDonald was expected to be the nickel back before training camp opened.  I don’t think he’ll be out of work too long.
