Andra Davis leaves the Cleveland Browns

30-year old linebacker Andra Davis has left the Browns to sign with the Broncos.  Davis played in all 16 games for the Browns last season and he made 90 tackles, defensed 3 passes and he had 1 interception.  In 7 seasons with the Browns, Davis played in 105 games in which he made 642 tackles, defensed 26 passes, had 8.5 sacks, forced 4 fumbles and he intercepted 8 passes.  It’s obvious that the Browns are looking to rebuild but they need to start adding at least as much talent as they let walk.

The Cleveland Browns trade Kellen Winslow to the Bucs

Blogged under Trades, Bloglockers, Front Page, Big Browns News, General by admin on Friday 27 February 2009 at 6:40 pm

The Cleveland Browns have traded 25-year old TE Kellen Winslow to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a 2nd round pick in the 2009 draft and a 5th rounder in 2010.  Winslow played in 10 games for the Browns last season and he caught 43 passes for 428 yards (10.0 avg) with 3 TD grabs.  He finished his career with the Browns playing in 44 games in which he caught 219 passes for 2,459 yards (11.2 avg) with 11 TD grabs.  The Browns apparently didn’t like the baggage that goes with Kellen Winslow.  Still, the Browns made another hole on the offense trading away the player with the best set of hands on the roster.  The Browns did need the draft picks but they might regret trading Winslow down the road.
