The Cleveland Browns have acquired the #22 pick in the first round from the Dallas Cowboys for the Browns’ 2nd round pick this season (#36) and their first round pick in 2008.  The Browns then used the pick to select QB Brady Quinn from Notre Dame.

Poor Brady Quinn! He looked like he was spared from a career of disappointment and misery when the Browns did not take him with the third pick. I guess he won’t be getting a Super Bowl ring unless he gets out of Cleveland at some point.

We shall see. I’m just hoping that he wins the starting job outright in Training Camp because I don’t want to see Charlie Frye in their turning the ball over at will.

Well, they did get their top two guys, so they have to be happy in Cleveland. I will be shocked if Quinn can’t beat out that stiff Charlie Frye. Of course, we all know how the seasons end for the Browns, either no playoffs at all or with a loss.

Ok browns fans, I have had enough of your complaining! This was the best draft the Cleveland has ever had! Getting Joe Thomas in the 3rd pick was uhhhh well scary. How could you pass Brady Quinn? With Charlie Frye in the shotgun, the only place we’ll get is back home for Christmas Day. Brady is a breath of fresh air. It’s good to get someone who actually wants to play for us. I am so excited for this season and cant wait to prove all of you non believers wrong.

P.S. Troy Smith got chosen in the last round of the 5th round and anyone that wants to tell me that he will be a better pro than Brady… call me and we will have a lengthy debate.

Brady Quinn reminds me of Bernie Kosar because he’s a hometown boy that wanted to play for the Browns. He was the most pro-ready QB available in the Draft and the Browns are going to be much better as long as Quinn is starting from Day #1. You are right about this draft being a fantastic one for the Browns, don’t forgot Eric Wright who they selected in the 2nd round as he’s likely to be the starting right corner for the Cleveland Browns this season.

You are right about Troy Smith, Marisa. He’s going to be a stiff in the Pros. I’m glad he went to Baltimore because if they ever start him they will be the Browns whipping boys. He showed his true colors against the Florida Gators.

I think Troy Smith will be a very useful player in the pros, but he won’t do it as a QB. With his athleticism they will find somewhere else to play him on the field, just like Randle El.

As for the comparison of Brady Quinn to Bernie Kosar… Charlie Frye was a hometown boy too; I think Quinn has just about an equal chance of being like either of those two. Regardless, neither of those guys could win the big game. The difference between them is that Charlie couldn’t even win the small ones.

It looks like a good draft on the surface, but things never really work out well in the end for the Browns, at least not in the last 40 years!

True, Charlie Frye is a hometown boy but he wasn’t as highly thought of as either Quinn or Kosar coming out of college. Akron U. is not exactly on the level of Notre Dame or Miami (Fla.). The thing that separates Quinn from the others is his arm strength and the fact that he was coached in Charlie Weis’ offense which is Pro Style.

Things are about to change for the better in Cleveland starting this season.

The teams that Quinn would beat up on were a lot like the teams Akron played. Whenever N.D. would play anyone good, Brady Quinn would come up short… way short!
