Browns vs. Chargers

The Cleveland Browns have to feel good about themselves heading into their matchup with the Chargers after beating the Jets in Jeff Davidson’s first game as offensive co-ordinator.  The Chargers are 5-2 and trying to keep pace with the Denver Broncos.

Tbe Browns will look to run the football and control the clock.  RB Reuben Droughns rushed for 125 yards against the Jets and will be facing a defense that only allows 84.7 yards rushing a game…..but 4.1 yards per carry!  The Browns think they can have success running the ball, as long as they stick to it.  The Browns utilized the TEs alot against the Jets and probably will try to do the same this week, as Kellen Winslow gives them a mis-match most of the time.  Look for the Browns to take a few deep shots to Braylon Edwards and Joe Jurevicius do to the fact that the Chargers will be without their two best pass rushers, Shaun Phillips (injury) and Shawne Merriman (cheater).

The Chargers will be running the football as soon as they get off of the team bus.  The Browns allow 136.1 yards rushing per game and 4.4 yards per carry.  LaDainian Tomlinson (656 yards rushing) and Michael Turner (323 yards rushing) should find little resistance from the Browns on the ground.  Look for Philip Rivers to attack the Browns safeties with Antonio Gates on the short stuff.

This should be a easy win for the Chargers, but games aren’t played on paper.  The Browns should be able to move the ball on the Chargers, and keep the game under the 12.5 point spread.
