Browns need offense to keep improving
The Browns looked much better on offense against the Lions than they did against the Eagles. The team should improve once Braylon Edwards gets back on the field. But for the pre-season the Browns have not looked very good on offense. The running game is putting up 95.5 yards per game, with an average carry gaining 4.1 yards. The passing game has been pretty weak so far. The Browns are only averaging 161.0 yards passing in their two games, but a bright spot is that the young QBs are connecting on 63.0% of their passes.
The defense looks much improved due to massive upgrades in the front seven. The Browns are holding opponents to 94.0 yards rushing per game and only 3.1 yards per carry. That is a massive improvement over the last few years, and I hope it continues. Nothing is more frustrating than watching an opponent just hand-off the ball and beat you. The pass defense also has played pretty well only allowing 193.0 yards per game, especially when you consider that Daylon McCutcheon and Gary Baxter have been out.
